The Department of Neurology offers both inpatient and outpatient clinical services. The
procedure for availing OPD services is outlined below.
Patient Registration in Out Patient Department (OPD):
Patients coming to NIMHANS for the first time are
registered at the Screening block in the Outpatient Department between 8.00 am and 11.30 am from
Monday to Saturday (except on Sunday and general holiday). Patients referred by doctors get
preference in the Screening block. Please show the referral letter from your doctor and
get a screening slip made [pay Rs.20.00]. Patients will be evaluated by a General Medical
Officer/resident doctor in the screening block to determine the nature of illness and will
be referred to the appropriate department/ hospital.
Patients in the speciality clinics are seen only by
prior appointment. New patients that wish to be seen in the speciality clinics have to
get themselves registered first in the general neurology OPD. Subsequently they may be
given appointment for speciality clinics as per the neurophysicians discretion.
NB: In case the doctor you were referred to is
not available on the day of your arrival, the patient will be seen by other doctors of the
concerned team.
